Senior Waste Boiler Design Engineer

  • The Opportunity
    We are looking for Sulphuric Acid waste boiler designer who has proficient experience in Waste to Energy projects including boiler and turbine power generation and have built your career inside the EP environment.
  • The Position

Responsible for developing mechanical design packages based on the projects. Perform the design and drafting using applicable standards, project technical specifications and enterprise or project procedures. Prepare equipment datasheets, construction documents and specifications. Able to develop cost estimates with material takeoff information for all sizes of projects in short time frames. Meets with clients’ technical staff to discuss technical information and features. Participates in the preparation of equipment lists, piping line lists and specialty item lists. Must be able to prioritize and manage a heavy workload to ensure high quality and productivity. Your duties will include pursuing research to advance the state of the art in lowering the cost and time for improving the boiler performance and efficiency. Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team, to undertake independent scientific investigations and carry out associated tasks under the guidance of more senior Research Scientists/Engineers.

Salary:  AU$120k – AU$160k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term of 3 years

*NB: This position is offered across two levels, the appointment level will be determined by the qualifications, skills and relevant experience of the successful candidate

To be successful you will need A master or doctorate in chemical or mechanical engineering. +4yrs experience in designing of waste heat recovery Boilers. Experience with heat exchangers reactors, pumps, piping systems, vessels, and tanks. Applicant must be competent at designing with FLUENT.  Well familiar with ASME/API, PFD, P&ID. High level of attention to detail, initiative and strong work ethic. Excellent English skills to produce written documents and detailed designs through mechanical and production drawings. Able to work on their own or as part of a team to achieve challenging deadlines. Demonstrated proficiency in the below will be highly regarded:
• SolidWorks
• OpenFOAM
• Relevant background and job experience
